Skate Ramps
How to choose skate ramps
Sub type fit
Pick Outdoor Recreation if you want adventure play, or Skateboarding if the user rides a board daily.
Portability vs fixed
Decide between a single foldable kicker and a fixed kerb set based on transport versus driveway use.
Training goal
Foam boxes suit fitness routines, while rigid ramps suit trick practice.
Setup range
Assembly variation count matters, as more layouts need more storage space at home.
What's good
- Mini kicker ramps in the Skateboarding sub type fold flat, so they ride easily in a car boot.
- Kerb ramps from the Sporting Goods range come in packs of four, covering wide entries without gaps.
- Foam plyometric boxes under Sporting Goods attach together, giving scalable jump heights for conditioning.
- Multi assembly skate ramp sets in Outdoor Recreation give six layout options from one purchase.
Things to watch
- Lightweight portable ramps suit kids and scooters, but they lack the surface for repeated BMX drops.
- Kerb ramps sit low to the ground, so they will not train aerial tricks.
- Foam boxes absorb impact well, yet they miss the launch angle of a true kicker.
- Set based ramps need regular slotting together, which takes time before a session.
Care & maintenance
Foam care
Wipe foam plyometric surfaces after use to stop sweat softening the skin.
Joint checks
Check the couplings on multi assembly ramp sets before each ride.
Dry storage
Store folded ramps dry, since pooled water weakens ply or cardboard edges.
Frost avoidance
Park kerb ramps clear of frost to avoid slip and material creep.
