Two cameras can cover two positions, but check that both have suitable mounting locations and network coverage. Divide the final delivered price by the number of cameras only after checking whether the bundle also includes a hub or other equipment.
Does it need a HomeBase or subscription?
Eufy describes SoloCam S220 as usable directly with Wi-Fi and on-device storage, without a mandatory monthly recording subscription. HomeBase 3 is an optional connection for supported features and storage. Eufy’s current UK compatibility table lists SoloCam S220 as compatible with HomeBase 3.
Check the current compatibility guidance for your exact camera and hub before adding to an existing system. A listing that says HomeBase 3 compatible is not promising a HomeBase in the box. Optional memberships, internet access and other services are separate from the camera’s local recording proposition.
Will solar charging suit the mounting position?
Eufy’s solar claim depends on suitable sunlight and usage. Check the location at different times of day: an overhang, north-facing wall or winter shade can change how much light reaches the panel. Allow for charging and maintenance rather than assuming a solar camera can run indefinitely in every location.
SoloCam S220 uses 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and supports event recording rather than continuous recording. Check coverage where it will actually be installed. If continuous footage is your priority, choose around that requirement before comparing prices.
